তোমার জন্যই নেপাল

নেপাল! বাংলাদেশ থেকে দূরত্ব মাত্র ৮১৩ কিলোমিটার। কিন্তু মক্কার মানুষ যেমন হজ্জ্ব পায় না, তেমনই জীবনের অর্ধেক সময় পার করে দিলাম অন্যান্য দেশ ঘুরে। এই যাচ্ছি, যাবো করেও নেপালে যাওয়া হয়ে ওঠে নি। এবার পরিবারের কিছু মানুষের পাল্লায় পড়ে কোন রকম প্রত্যাশা ছাড়াই রওনা দিলাম নেপালের উদ্দেশ্যে।

প্রথম ধাক্কাটা খেলাম যখন প্লেন থেকে মেঘের ফাঁক দিয়ে একঝলকের জন্য দেখতে পেলাম হিমালয় পর্বতের ঝকমকে রূপালী শৃঙ্গ। বুকের মধ্যে কোথায় যেন একটা মৃদু আন্দোলন হলো।

কাঠমুণ্ডুতে নামার পর থেকেই শুরু হলো উত্তেজনা। যেদিকেই তাকাই, প্রাচীন স্থাপনার নিদর্শন। রাস্তায় রাস্তায় ঝলমলে পাহাড়ি পাথরের তৈরি অদ্ভুত সুন্দর সব গয়নার ছোট ছোট দোকান। প্রতিটি খাবার দোকানে মোমো, থুকপা থেকে শুরু করে রকমারি সুস্বাদু নেপালী খাবারের সম্ভার। প্রতি মুহুর্তে বাড়তে থাকলো নেপালের প্রতি আমার আগ্রহ।

সন্ধ্যা থেকেই শুরু হয়ে গেলো কাঠমুণ্ডুর নৈশ আসর। থামেলের প্রতিটি রাস্তা রংবেরঙের নিয়ন বাতির আলোয় জীবন্ত হয়ে উঠলো। বিভিন্ন দেশ থেকে আসা পর্যটকদের পদচারণায় মুখর হয়ে উঠলো লাইভ মিউজিক ক্যাফে, ডিস্কো, ক্লাব আর রেস্টুরেন্টগুলো। দু’দিন কাঠমুণ্ডু থাকার পর রওনা হলাম পোখারার দিকে। পথে আবারো দেখা হলো হিমালয়ের সাথে।

পুরো পোখারা শহরটা গড়ে উঠেছে পাহাড়ের উপত্যকায় ফেওয়া লেক নামের একটা হ্রদকে ঘিরে। অনেক চেষ্টা করেও চোখ সরিয়ে রাখতে পারছিলাম না হ্রদটা থেকে। আর ওই বিশাল হ্রদের দিকে তাকালেই স্থান-কালের জ্ঞান লোপ পাচ্ছিল প্রতিবারই।

আগে থেকেই ঠিক করে রেখেছিলাম নেপালে গিয়ে অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টস করবো। প্যারাগ্লাইডিং দেখে মনে হলে প্যারাসেইলিং-এর মতোই হবে, যেটা আগে করেছি। জিপ ফ্লাইং দেখে মনে হলো কেবল-কার-এর দ্রুততর সংস্করণ। বাকি রইলো বাঞ্জি জাম্পিং। ছোটবেলায় দুষ্টুমি করলে বড়রা বলতো পা বেঁধে উল্টা করে ঝুলিয়ে রাখবে। বাঞ্জি জাম্পিং বিষয়টা প্রায় সেরকমই। দুই পা একসাথে করে বেল্ট আর দড়ি দিয়ে বেঁধে পাহাড়ের ওপরে অনেক উঁচু জায়গা থেকে ধাক্কা মেরে নিচে ফেলে দেয়। নিচে পড়ার ঠিক আগ মুহূর্তে দড়িতে টান লেগে কয়েকবার বাউন্স করে ওলোট-পালোট খেয়ে তারপর স্থির হয়ে যায় বাঞ্জি জাম্পার। তারপর আস্তে আস্তে নিচে অপেক্ষমান নৌকায় নামিয়ে নেয়া হয় তাকে। বাঞ্জি জাম্পিং করার আগে আমি কখনো ভাবিনি জীবনে কোন কিছু নিয়ে আমার ভয় হতে পারে। যখন পাহাড়ের ওপরে লাফ দেয়ার জন্য অপেক্ষা করছি, তখন হঠাৎ ভয়ে হাত পা ঠাণ্ডা হয়ে আসে। লাফ দেয়ার মুহূর্তে মনে হয় জীবন এখানেই শেষ। তারপর হঠাৎ করেই অনুভব করি ভয় কেটে গিয়ে নতুন এক উত্তেজনা, উদ্দীপনায় ভরে উঠেছে আমার সারা শরীর। মনে হতে থাকে নতুন করে বেঁচে উঠলাম। এখন আমি জানি মানুষ কেন শখ করে করে এই ভয়ঙ্কর অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টগুলো করে। মানুষ নতুন করে জীবন ফিরে পাওয়ার আসক্তিটা অনুভব করতে চায়।

নতুন করে বেঁচে ওঠার এই অনুভূতির কারণেই কি না কে জানে, পরের দিনগুলো খুব অন্যরকম সুন্দর মনে হতে থাকে। মেঘলা আকাশ সত্ত্বেও সারাংকোটে গিয়ে পুরো দুপুর-বিকাল কাটিয়ে দিলাম আকাশের দিকে তাকিয়ে থেকে। যদি মেঘ কেটে গিয়ে একঝলক দেখা যায় ফিশটেইল শৃঙ্গ বা অন্নপূর্ণা রেঞ্জ। আশাহত হই নি। সন্ধ্যাবেলা সূর্য যখন ডুবছে, ঠিকই এক মুহূর্তের জন্য মেঘের ফাঁক গলে দেখা দিয়েছিল সূর্যমাখা সোনালী ফিশটেইল আর অন্নপূর্ণা। নিজেকে হারিয়ে ফেলেছিলাম মেঘফুঁড়ে বের হওয়া পর্বতশৃঙ্গের বিশালতার মাঝে।

নেপাল এমন একটা দেশ, যা সব ধরণের পর্যটককে আকৃষ্ট করবে। প্রকৃতি যার পছন্দ, তাকে যেভাবে টানবে নেপাল, ঠিক সেভাবেই টানবে যার ডিস্কোতে গিয়ে পার্টি করা পছন্দ তাকে। যে শপিং করে মজা পায়, তার জন্য নেপাল যতোটা লোভোনীয়, ঠিক ততোটাই লোভোনীয় যে প্রাচীন স্থাপনা দেখতে পছন্দ করে তার জন্য। দেশে দেশে ঘুরে যে ভিনদেশী খাবার খেতে পছন্দ করে তার জন্য নেপাল যতোটা আবেদনময়, ঠিক ততোটাই আবেদনময় যে অ্যাডভেঞ্চার স্পোর্টস পছন্দ করে তার জন্য।

শেষ করার আগে একটা কথা না বললেই না। নেপালে যেখানেই গেছি সেখানেই কিন্তু রংধনুর দেখা পেয়েছি। হ্রদের পানিতে রংধনু, পাহাড়ের গায়ে রংধনু, পাহাড়ি ঝর্ণায় রংধনু। এখন থেকে জীবনে যতোবার রংধনু দেখবো, ততোবার মনে পড়বে নেপালের কথা।
